"...Dedicated to Desert-Lovers, Beach-Combers, & All Afficionados de Baja California..."

Here is something Thomas wrote about Bahia, way back when...

"In Bahia de los Angeles, what we DON'T HAVE counts.  We have no:

- No Pollution; on a regular day you can see 30 miles.

- No Telephone, what a blessing!

- No Television, No Newspaper, thank God, No Daily Bad News!

- No Beauty Parlor; think how much money you save by letting yourself be natural!

- No Piercing Police, Fire Engine, Ambulance, or Paramedic sirens to listen to!

- No Commercial Airline.

- No Nightlife; our lights go out at 10 p.m.

365 days a year we enjoy a most beautiful sunrise over the Sea of Cortez.  Our sun rises always in the morning, right on schedule!

We HAVE:

- An English Speaking Doctor.

- Daily Fresh Tortillas

- An Abundant Supply of Fresh Fish and Other Fine Seafoods.

- A Gas Station Selling Regular Gas, No Unleaded.

- 3 Restaraunts; two are excellent!

- A Good English Speaking Car Mechanic and a Good Tire Shop.

- We have Very Fine Mexican Beer!

- An Excellent Laundry Lady.

- We Have Knowledgeable Fishing Guides and Boats for Rent.

Our climate is similar to San Diego, but more desert-like.  When it rains in Los Angeles or San Diego, we get strong West-Winds.  As the storms move from the California coast Eastward into Arizona, we get North-Wind.  We welcome this winds; they sweep our village and they allow us to curl up with a good book!  Just as the storms in California occur mostly in the Winter, so do our winds.  In the summer months, just a light breeze blows from the sea to keep our house air-conditioned.  As the water warms up in August, this breeze becomes less effective.  Our coldest water temperature is in March, and the warmest in October. With the exception of August, most outdoor people will find our climate very pleasant and extremely healthy.  The time from July the 15th to September 15th is more recommended for desert rats."
