Gasoline, Diesel and Propane
Is available in Bahia. There are two dealers who truck the fuel in from 100 to 200 miles away. They have to buy it at a Pemex Station for the same price we all pay. The price here is 150 pesos for five gallon. ($ 3.00 a gallon.) The exchange rate is ten pesos to one $.

Telephone and e-mail
No wires lead to this village, even cell phones are out of range. Bahia depends strictly on satellite communications. We
have one phone casetta. You go there to make a call and the lady there makes the call for you. All you have to do is to talk and to pay. (Keep it short.) There is a phone at Guillermos Restaurant and one at Camp Gecko. If you like to send an e-mail, you find three Internet places; one is in the phone casetta between the Las Hamacas restaurant and the liquor store.

Stores and Eating Places
There are several well stocked stores, all of them sell beverages, most of them have beer and ice. In the evening you find a few taco stands open. During the day you have the choice of about five restaurants. All serve Mexican Food, and ice-cold cerveza and sodas. If you are lucky you get fresh caught fish.

Boats for rent and fishing guides
If you are an avid fisherman and you want to catch the 'big one' the best thing to do is to hire a 'Panga' with a guide. Fish have fins and they do swim. Guides know best where to find the catch you are after. ...

Automotive Services
There are a few good mechanics in the village who can fix almost everything. Samy Diaz Tireshop is known for his excellent service. He also fixes broken trailers and he has a small partshouse. Is your car overheating? The radiator shop can take care of this too.

First Aid Station & Doctors
Near the Police Station is a small hospital and you might find a Doctor in attendence. If not, Dr. Abraham is the owner of Camp Gecko. 5 km to the South of the village. The road is terrible, I personally recommend it as a cure if you have kidney stones.
