Punta Prieta is actually the town a few miles past the Parador/turnoff, but it is marked this way on many maps.  As noted in the topmost photo, there are parts of this stretch where the road has steep dropoffs and it's easy to wander a bit too far and catch that edge; please use caution.  Those towing trailers should be especially careful.  There is no Pemex station at the turnoff, but as in Cataviña, gas is sold by private vendors from the backs of pickup trucks.  There are two Pemex stations once you reach Bahia which is approx. 44 miles from the turnoff.

PARADOR approx. driving time from Bahia 45 min.; gas available from private vendors; store for snacks & refreshments on South bound side of hwy.
