March 14th, 2009 Recently, the service of purchasing Mexican Sportfishing licenses locally here in town was suspended.  People are now being referred to other sources, one being online purchase via the Baja Secretary of Tourism website.  This page illustrates what that process looks like to familiarize users. What follows are "screenshots" (images taken of the computer screen); they do not contain active content or links.  Description/instructions appear in red or blue.

First step is to make sure you have Adobe's Acrobat Reader (free program) installed on your system. The license itself is in the PDF format and you will need Acrobat Reader to open & print it. Link to Adobe's website for download if required:  http://get.adobe.com/reader/

Go to http://www.discoverbajacalifornia.com  This is the English version of the Baja Secretary of Toursim's website note: if you do this process on a weekend, you may have to wait until the next business day to print out your license.  Your permit will still be processed.  Login using the R.F.C / ID number you filled in during step 3.  You can then navigate to your permits and be able to printout your license.  This happened to me personally.  Seems their system requires some type of authorization that may not be available on weekends.
