El
Rosario is located on the Pacific side. Fresh
air, cool breezes; it's from here that the journey heads
inland across the desert. There is a military
checkpoint just North of the town, they usually do not
check Southbound traffic. There are also lots
of "topes", or speed bumps. Take it
slow as you drive through the city limits. During
the summer months, you will leave the cool of the Pacific
behind you at El Rosario, as you begin to make
your way across the peninsula to the Sea of Cortez side.
Expect very high temps in summer; this stretch
is best done during the cooler morning hours if possible
during the hot times of year. |
