Here
I will pass along some of my personal recommendations
on a few places you might want to try out along the
way to Bahia...
Places
to Stay
Looking
for a place to stay in Ensenada that won't cost
you an arm and a leg? Try "Motel Colon"...
Another
place to stay along the route to Bahia can be found
in the small town of Vicente Guerrero, just North
of San Quintin, at "Motel Sanchez".
This is another place laid out around a courtyard,
you can park right in front of your room, and they too
have a night attendant. Prices are very reasonable
and you even watch a little TV (one channel!). There is a great
taco stand a few steps down the road and on the
same side of the street as the Motel. You'll find
it just after the Dulceria which the motel is a adjacent
to. A little further down the road on the opposite
side of the street, there is a licor store/tienda that
has phone booths where you can make a call if you wish.
I always stop in there and call my Mom and Dad
to let them know I made it to the motel ok!
Places
to Eat
Here
is a great little place that has "home cooking".
Very good food, very reasonable, and I highly
recommend it. It's not much more than a large
taco stand with some tables and an enclosed area for
eating, but don't let that fool you. They can
cook up a storm in there! They have a great variety
of hot dishes, and if you can't decide what to order,
tell them you want a "Mixto". They will
serve you a plate with a little bit of everything on
there so you can give it all a try. You'll find it
at KM 16, after the town of San Quintin; just after the curve
where the turn off is for Santa Maria. The
name of the establishement is: "Parcela
12"
