Find Our Fathers
Dear Sir or Madam:
We are the family and friends of the passengers who are still missing from the ‘Erik’ fishing accident where a storm capsized the vessel. There are still eight people missing. The Mexican government and Mexican navy are still actively putting forth a major search and rescue effort. To help spread the word, we are reaching out to anyone we can to ask for help:
1. Help make people aware of the situation.
2. Ask for any ‘good Samaritan’ help from anyone who can:
a. Post Missing posters
i. Stores (e.g. retail, grocery, tourist souvenirs, etc.)
ii. Boat chartering establishments
iii. Businesses (e.g. travel agencies, banks, corporate buildings, etc.)
b. Provide any pangas to assist with a physical search in the surrounding area
c. Provide any time to assist with a physical search.
At the time the boat capsized, the vessel, which started its journey in San Felipe, had gone 300 miles south. The last three survivors were found by Bahia de los Angeles. It’s possible that other survivors may have drifted further toward La Paz or further out.
Please contact the U.S. Consulate, Sarah Schmidt at (619) 692-2154. Family and friends can be contacted via FindOurFathers@gmail.com. Follow us on FindOurFathers.blogspot.com.
Warm regards and may God bless you,
